Blackburn is one of Whitehorse's leafy, established suburbs, known for Blackburn Lake Sanctuary and its heritage-protected pockets. The housing is a real mix of period homes, from California bungalows and interwar houses through to 1960s brick homes, with newer builds around the station. The plumbing problems we see vary a lot depending on the street, the age of the property, and what's been touched over the years. Here's what comes up most often.

Blocked Drains and Tree Roots in Older Blackburn Streets

Blackburn's mature trees are part of what makes the suburb so pleasant to live in, but they're also a big driver of the blocked drains we clear. A lot of the older homes still run terracotta clay sewer pipes, and roots find their way into the smallest joint, then keep growing until water can't pass.
